Police Services

If you need to contact the Police in an emergency you should call 999 from any telephone.

If people want to report non urgent incidents they can do this via the website or using the email address contact.centre@sussex.pnn.police.uk. The usual phone numbers are 0845 60 70 999 for non urgent calls.

There are two policing teams in Chichester District. These are the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) under Inspector Hudson. There are 5 sections each with 2 sergeants and will cover the Police response to incidents.

The second team is the Neighbourhood Specialist Team (NST) under Inspector Bartlett. They will be responsible for community policing, problem solving and multi agency partnerships.

The local Sergeant for your NST is P.S. Spencer Roberson and your local Neighbourhood Specialist Constable (NSC) is Mark Hillman. We also have a Police Community Support Officer who is PCSO Jason LEMM.

After working for 3 years in Bognor Regis I have served 22 years based in Chichester District. These have been in roles on Response, Traffic, Beat Crime Unit, Licensing, City Centre Officer and Mobile Police Station Officer.

During this time I developed the Shopwatch and Pubwatch radio networks and enjoyed working with other agencies, retailers and the local community.

Initially I was a Special Constable on Lavant Rural Beat so am pleased to be able to return to this area in my new role as the officer for this area. I will also be developing and delivering the recently commissioned CountryWatch radio network and other projects in the district.

Lavant, the Deans

I became a PCSO in January 2007 after working for nearly 14 years as a sign writer. Being a person that enjoys chatting to and finding out new things about people, a community policing role seemed to be a good choice for a career. I had also always had a keen interest in the police service as a whole.

I am looking forward to meeting with new people on my beat and being out in the community, which will cover Lavant and the Deans on the outskirts of Chichester.
